Plank-style panel doors are built with frame and panel construction. The frame includes stiles and rails, the vertical and horizontal components respectively. Panels are the large, wider sheets that fill the space between the stiles and rails. Panels fit into grooves in the frame components and help keep the door strong and durable. Our wood panels contain a distinctive profile.
This paneled, top rail square-top door is made in the United States at our own local shop. Our knotty alders doors may be used for interior or exterior use, including bedrooms and entry ways.
Our panels are solid wood and much higher quality than pressboard panels with thin veneers, or hollow core panels found on lower quality wood rails. Panels are manufactured with small width boards, glued to create the larger width panel. Individual boards are random widths, glued in differing grain patterns to balance the panel and reduce the natural tendency of the wood to cup or warp.
